Ridiculous Action Figures Part II

Of course I am referring to my previous post “Get your TV Ad Manly Men Action Figures.” I think I may have to start a collection.

The same Connecticut based company that brought you dolls of the ‘manliest’ TV ad men is now bringing you the “Tweet This” Anthony Wiener –  uh, I mean Weiner doll. In addition they will also be selling an adult-only version for an additional $10.

Weiner, who announced a short time ago that he will resign after the social networking scandal, should probably be on the look out for my next planned blog post: Twitter Etiquette for Dummies.

New! For your child’s enjoyment. Play pretend with your own “Manliest Men in the World” action figures.

I was going to write my blog on this woman but when I heard about about Herobuilders.com new toys I couldn’t resist. Ms. Hocking will have to wait until next week.

I was driving into work listen to the Marketplace Morning Report as usual (I alone count the number of times I reference my NPR habits in my blog posts, I know, but it entertains me), zoning out while I drove thinking about all the things on my to-do list, when I heard the voice of Dos Equis ‘Most Interesting Man in the World’ and my curiosity was piqued.

The new line of children’s toys collectables retail between 49.95 and 59.95 and features Mayhem from the Allstate Commercials, The Most interesting Man in the World from the Dos Equis commercials, as I mentioned previously, and the sexiest man in the world being the new Old Spice guy.

There are many things running through my head as I heard the story, but my first thought was – Here’s a new goal for ad agency creative depts – – Is my idea cool enough to be turned into an action figure.

Are the days of GI Joe and He-Man gone?
